Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele position in a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, requiring at least 2 years of MedSurg experience and a NC or compact RN license.

  • Care general transitional MedSurg patient with CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, CIWA, infections, and wounds
  • Any service line may admit, including occasional general surgical patients

  • Weekend rotation required on an every-other-weekend basis
  • No on-call or call-back requirements

  • Orientation includes NEO and 2 shifts on the unit

Additional Information

  • >Surg/Tele RN role coordinating with 1 CNA per pod, a shared charge nurse for both areas, and 24/7 support from phlebotomy, RT, hospitalists, and residents
  • Provide direct patient care including trach care, chest tube management, wound care, and administration of non-titrating drips such as Heparin, Lasix, and Protonix
  • Preferred experience with Cardizem and Amiodarone drips, though training is available if needed
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Free parking provided
  • Holiday coverage required for approximately 50% of holidays
  • Clinical interview required as part of the hiring process
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate eligibility
