Description
American Traveler is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist for a hospital-based rehabilitation therapy role in Montana, requiring an active MT OT license and AHA BLS certification.
Details
- Hospital-based rehabilitation therapy setting offering both inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy services
- Day shift, 8:00am–4:30pm with every other weekend required
- 13-week contract at 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week)
- On-call availability may be required to respond to organizational or patient needs
Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Active Montana OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- 2 years of hospital-based (inpatient/outpatient) OT experience preferred
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder level
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Evaluate physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination, and neurological status
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, modalities, splinting fabrication/modification, and ADL training
- Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations, work screens, and driver's evaluations (if trained)
- Provide patient, family, and caregiver education on pain management, safety, and individualized care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and healthcare providers for coordinated treatment planning
- Participation in 2 hours of stroke/cerebrovascular disease education within the first year is required
- Document evaluations, progress notes, daily treatments, and discharge summaries in compliance with facility rehabilitation policies
- First-time travelers will not be considered; prior travelers only
