Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) / EP Lab position in Tucson, AZ, requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital
- Cares for high-risk, high-acuity patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
- Bedside procedures performed in the unit include Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV)
- Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts with varying start times (0600–1830, 0700–1930, or 0800–2030)
- On-call is required on a rotational basis, approximately every 4–6 weeks, covering Saturdays (0700–1700) and Sundays (0700–1400)
Requirements
- Active RN license in AZ or a compact state currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; relevant backgrounds include PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, or Surgery Center and will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment
- Valid driver's license required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include admitting and prepping patients for Cath procedures and bedside CV/TEE procedures, administering conscious sedation, circulating and documenting procedures, and discharging patients with teaching and documentation
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for consideration
- RTO requests must be for less than one week in duration
