Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a mid-shift travel position requiring an active AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent emergency department experience.
Details
- Work in a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department
- Treats more than 60,000 patients per year across all age groups
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
- 13-week assignment on mid shift, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as assigned
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the health system
- Uses Meditech EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross equivalent
- TNCC certification required
- 2 years of experience required, though 18 months may be considered if working under the highest level of professional license
- 2 years of recent experience in emergency department specialty required
- NURSYS verification required
- No prior licensure issues, past or current, permitted

- Work alongside a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff
- Solid navy scrub color required per facility dress code
- On-site skills test required in addition to online pre-test
- Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
- Parking available on-site
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
