Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Longview, TX, requiring active TX or compact RN licensure and key emergency certifications.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Emergency Care Center (ECC)
• Night shift schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or through a compact state
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Current TNCC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• All certifications must be active and non-expired

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• Makes assignments and delegates to other care providers as appropriate
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed both organizationally and department-specifically
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
