Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in post-op cardiac surgery and complex cardiac patients, with ACLS and NIHSS certifications required.

Details

  • 20-bed telemetry unit in a hospital setting
  • Specializes in post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients with multiple comorbidities and complex care needs
  • Patient population is transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Weekends and holidays required

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

  • Nursing practice is evidence-based and incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, individualized care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities
  • Delegates tasks appropriately and monitors completion of delegated care by other team members
  • Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer monitoring, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
