Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Alexandria, LA.
Details
- Inpatient respiratory therapy department within an acute care hospital setting
- Adult patient population
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- 13-week contract with temp-to-perm potential
Requirements
- Current RRT credential issued by the NBRC required
- Active RT or RCP license in the state of employment required, if applicable
- BLS certification via AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copies of all active certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include emergency code response, airway management (nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning), aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator setup and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen delivery and monitoring, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, chest film analysis, and thorough documentation
- Advanced practice responsibilities may include therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, desaturation studies, polysomnography, and patient transport duties
- RRTs may serve in a Shift Leader or Team Leader capacity
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
