Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and independent sterile vaginal exam proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 320 staffed beds
• Labor & Delivery unit with floating required to Mother Baby
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend availability required, potentially exceeding every other weekend to meet unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs are provided for L&D

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (hard stop — must have a passing score)
• Minimum of 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision (hard stop requirement)
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a local rate
• Scheduling preferences may be considered at manager's discretion, but requests related to additional outside employment will not be accommodated
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
