Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification, Epic experience, and the ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 320 total staffed beds
• Labor & Delivery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend, with the possibility of additional weekends to meet unit needs
• Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially across all facilities within the state
• Epic EMR experience required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Scrubs are provided for L&D

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (AWHONN Advanced is a hard stop — must have a passing score)
• Minimum of 1.5 years of L&D RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision — this is a hard stop requirement
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active license must be in hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning and must reside more than 50 miles away
• Refusal to float between facilities may result in termination of the assignment
• Scheduling preferences may be considered at manager's discretion but are not guaranteed; schedule change requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
• Free parking is available on site
