Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department position in Lexington, KY, requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and multiple specialty certifications for a 13-week day shift contract.
Details
- Emergency Department setting providing 24/7 emergency care for patients of all ages
- Specialty rooms available, including an Extended Care Unit for observation patients
- 24-hour EMS/ALS support on site
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
- Minimum education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
- DOB (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, patient and family education, and care coordination across the interdisciplinary team
- Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, and documentation audits
- Delegates and monitors patient care tasks among team members appropriately
- Facilitates timely patient discharge including coordination with Case Management
