Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Michigan, with travel experience highly preferred and a first-to-float requirement across Med/Surg units.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit, which includes an Observation/ER Overflow unit (10 beds)
• Patient population consists of a general mix of medical patients across Med/Surg units
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights; ratios may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
• Observation unit focuses on rapid admission and discharge with constant reassessment of patient readiness for discharge
• Schedule is nights, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend is required
• Travelers are first to float to other Med/Surg units

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred; candidates with strong permanent staff experience may be considered

Additional Information

• Collaborative team environment with a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs across Med/Surg units
• Candidates must be comfortable working alongside LPNs and Techs
• Block scheduling is not available at this time
• Holiday coverage is required; any time-off requests during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
