Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a hybrid Cardiac ICU/Stepdown (CCU) position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Details

• Hybrid cardiac unit consisting of 8 Cardiac ICU beds and 6 Cardiac Stepdown beds
• ICU patient population is primarily CT Surgery pre- and post-op, with some Advanced Heart Failure cases
• Stepdown patient population includes CT Surgery, peripheral vascular (PV), and Heart Failure patients
• Daily nursing assignments rotate between the ICU and Stepdown sides of the unit
• Average patient ratio of 1:3
• Floating within scope to other units may occur as needed, with required floating to Stepdown
• Charts using Epic EMR
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience at a large Trauma Center facility required
• Must be comfortable with HVC (Heart and Vascular Center) protocols
• No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

• Large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center setting with over 1,000 staffed beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Parking is available at a cost of $125/month
