Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience, a valid LA or compact RN license, and openness to floating across multiple ICU specialties.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• 8-week assignment with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
• Floating required to other ICUs including MICU, Neuro, TICU, Burn, and CVICU
• Holiday coverage required
• No call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA State or Compact) required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Two recent manager references required
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including management of ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and other advanced critical care interventions
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Strict maximum of 5 days RTO permitted during the assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
• Candidates within 75 miles are considered local and eligible at the local rate
• Previous permanent employees of the health system must have separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions
