Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Jersey City, NJ, requiring Level II Trauma experience and night shift availability.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level II Trauma Center (Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred)
  • Cares for both adult and pediatric patients, including holding patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4–6
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • 35.25 hours per week
  • 13-week assignment
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)

Requirements

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke, and Trauma CEUs
  • Minimum 1.5 years of acute care experience relevant to the ED
  • Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with both adult and pediatric patient populations

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • De-escalation training must be completed within 14 days of start date at a cost of $50, paid directly to the vendor by the traveler
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Two current references required for consideration
  • Due to World Cup events in June and July in NJ, suggested housing areas include Staten Island, Montclair, West Orange, and Belleville
