Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a fast-paced acute care hospital in Truckee, CA, requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 3 years of OR experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 4 active suites (5th in progress)
• Handles 15–20 cases per day, including ortho, total joints, ortho trauma, GYN, ENT, general, and urology
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Shift schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), with variable days and call
• Call requirement is 1–2 weekends per month; no night call
• Call response time required within 30 minutes
• Holidays covered via call
• OR techs and charge nurses are present on the unit
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7; pharmacy available during daytime hours
• No floating required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
• Must be able to work at a very fast pace in a high-volume OR environment
• Must be able to assist with room turnover

Additional Information

• Primary responsibility is circulating; ability to also scrub is preferred but not required
• GI endoscopy experience is useful but not required
• No robotics cases performed at this facility
• Orientation consists of approximately 2 days, including 1 day for paperwork and IT/charting setup
• The facility is a small 30-bed community hospital located in Truckee, CA — a mountain town with strong outdoor recreation culture including skiing and hiking
• Holidays are billed at the regular rate (no holiday premium pay from the facility)
