Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position in Ohio, requiring active ICU/MICU experience and certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
- 13-week travel contract
- Adult patient population in a Medical ICU (MICU) setting
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units within the health system may be required based on need
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Common procedures include ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKGs, hypothermia protocol, stroke and neuro care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, wound vacs, and isolation precautions
- Equipment used includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, patient room lifts, and externalized IV pumps
Requirements
- Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at time of consideration)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Active ICU/MICU RN experience required
- Two professional references required: at least one must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; co-worker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Robust support services available including IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response team, NP, anesthesiology, and CRNA support
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an assignment — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or will receive a mail-in fingerprinting packet
- Former employees of this facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract period
- Local candidates are accepted
- Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase through CampusParc, ranging from a guaranteed on-site garage option to budget-friendly off-site lots with shuttle service
