Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
- ED includes a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure unit for behavioral health patients
- May float to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed extension of the ED where patients awaiting testing, consultations, or inpatient beds are staged
- ETCU is fully telemetry-capable, with two negative pressure rooms and the ability to place the entire unit under negative pressure
- Night shift: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed, primarily to the ETCU
- Pre-blocked scheduling is not approved
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- A supervisor reference from within the past 2 years is required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Manager interview is required as part of the selection process
- Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess fit prior to manager consideration
- May care for COVID-positive patients
- Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
- All RTO requests (maximum 7 days) must be submitted upfront at time of application
- ETCU nurses provide inpatient-level care to inpatient holds and may be cross-trained to assist with specific ED tasks as needed
