Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
• ED includes a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure unit for behavioral health patients
• May float to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed extension of the ED where patients awaiting testing, consultations, or inpatient beds are staged
• ETCU is fully telemetry-capable, with two negative pressure rooms and the ability to place the entire unit under negative pressure
• Night shift: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed, primarily to the ETCU
• Pre-blocked scheduling is not approved
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• A supervisor reference from within the past 2 years is required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Manager interview is required as part of the selection process
• Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess fit prior to manager consideration
• May care for COVID-positive patients

• All RTO requests (maximum 7 days) must be submitted upfront at time of application
• ETCU nurses provide inpatient-level care to inpatient holds and may be cross-trained to assist with specific ED tasks as needed
