Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN First Assist and Circulator for an OR position in Massachusetts requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 5 years of perioperative nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Position is split 50% circulating and 50% first assisting, requiring proficiency in both roles
• Schedule is four 10-hour shifts per day (07:00–17:30)
• On-call required two days per week from the end of shift until 19:00
• Weekend call required one out of every three weekends (Saturday and Sunday), 24 hours per day
• Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross required; AHA preferred
• Current ACLS certification required; AHA preferred
• Completion of an RN First Assisting course conforming to the AORN Core Curriculum required
• Minimum 5 years of diversified perioperative nursing experience with proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating required
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Assists the surgeon in a lead role throughout the operative procedure, with circulating responsibilities at times
• Works under the direction of the OR Nurse Manager within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures
• Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible but will be offered a reduced pay rate
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
