Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring ACLS certification and prior cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in a 23-bed Cardiac Med/Surg unit with 1 treatment room
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment length
- Patient ratios of 1:4 on days/evenings and 1:5 on nights
- Cardiac medical patient population including hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic HF, new onset Afib with or without RVR, and stable dysrhythmias
- Cares for procedural patients including cardiac caths (radial or femoral) without interventions, ablations, cardioversions, ICD/pacer placements, and pericardial drains
- Administers cardiac drips including Amio, Diltiazem, renal dose Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix, and insulin drips
- Additional patient populations include ICU transfers, neuro (CVA) patients, and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, Hi-flow, or Salter
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment with some hard-wired rooms, vein finder for IV therapy, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and dopplers
- EMR system is Allscripts with medication scanning capabilities and soft-lab
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within similar/alike areas
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH state or compact) currently in hand
- Current ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac telemetry
- Cardiac telemetry knowledge required
- Knowledge and skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients, including cardiac catheterizations
- Experience managing cardiac drips required
- Strong Medical-Surgical background with telemetry preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Deliver cardiac telemetry nursing care to a medically complex patient population including procedural and drip-dependent patients
- Team structure includes a Charge Nurse/CNC, RNs, PCTs, a Monitor Tech, and departmental support staff
- Best fit for engaging, team-oriented, flexible, and patient-centered candidates
- Hospital scrubs required per dress code
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
