Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift) position in Manchester, NH, requiring ACLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- Cardiac Medical/Surgical unit (F200) in an acute care hospital setting
- 23-bed unit with 1 treatment room, staffed by a charge nurse, RNs, PCTs, and a monitor tech on each shift
- Night shift patient ratio of 1:5
- Cardiac medical patient population including hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset AFib with or without RVR, stable dysrhythmias, CVA/neuro patients, and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Salter
- Procedural patients include cardiac caths (radial or femoral, without intervention), ablations, cardioversions, ICD and pacer patients, CardioMEMS, and pericardial drains
- Cardiac drips administered on the unit include Amiodarone, Diltiazem, renal-dose Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix (up to 40mg), and insulin drips
- Equipment includes telemetry monitoring (some hard-wired rooms), vein finder, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and Dopplers
- EMR: Allscripts with medication scanning capabilities and soft-lab
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within alike areas required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for Telemetry RNs
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
- Strong cardiac telemetry knowledge and skill set required
- Proficiency with cardiac procedural patient care (caths) and cardiac drip management required
- Strong Medical-Surgical background with telemetry experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Care for a cardiac medical patient population including procedural, drip-dependent, and complex multi-system patients
- Typical procedures include cardiac caths, ablations, cardioversions, EP studies, pacer/ICD management, and cardiac drip titration
- Ideal candidates are engaging, team-oriented, flexible, and patient-centered
- Hospital-provided scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
