Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital in Martinsville, VA, requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA certifications.

Details

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 41 beds
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, and hip/knee replacements
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• EMR: Meditech
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other departments serving the same patient population may be required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• AHA certifications required: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Handle with Care
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
• All required certifications must be obtained prior to start
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Any scrub color is acceptable
