Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Inpatient Rehab assignment in Salem, VA, requiring a VA or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

Details

• Inpatient Rehab unit (4th floor) in a hospital setting
• 35-bed unit with a patient ratio of 5–7:1
• Unit is supported by 2–4 techs based on census
• Procedures performed include IV medication administration, PICC line care, PEG tube administration, bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter insertion and care, bladder irrigation, and blood administration
• Equipment used includes vitals machines, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and bladder scanners
• Documentation via Meditech
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other Med/Surg departments may be required

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical RN experience
• Med/Surg or PCU experience required
• Rehab experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if you are licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatry, Physician Assistants, and Neuropsychology to support patient functional recovery and independence
• Navy blue or white solid scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
