Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of labor experience and active AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• Work setting is a 24-bed Maternal Infant Unit (L&D) located on the 3rd floor of the Atrium building
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients, 5-6:1 for postpartum and nursery
• Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, and newborn and postpartum care
• GE fetal monitors used on the unit
• EMR: Meditech CPN
• Every third weekend required
• 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced) or NCCEFM
• All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery nursing experience required
• Candidates must not have a gap in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Day shift team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, a secretary, leadership, and an educator; night shift includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, and a secretary
• Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses are issued pink badges for infant security
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible — no exceptions
• Prior experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes is preferred
