Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for an acute care hospital position in Dickinson, MI, requiring multi-area coverage across Pre-surgery/PACU and call rotation availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an Operating Room department with 4 suites running 3 concurrently
• RNs are expected to cross-cover Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU in addition to the OR
• Common case types include General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology (pacemakers, lead revisions, etc.)
• Averages approximately 9 cases per day
• Day shifts, 8 hours, with start times between 0545–0900 and end times between 1345–1700
• Call is required and rotated among trained RNs on weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be ready to make incision within 30 minutes for STAT cases
• Schedule is manager-built; self-scheduling is not available
• EMR is Paragon (facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required by start date
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Experience with General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology cases required
• Experience in Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU required
• 2 professional references required: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• One-week unit orientation provided
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date, and hospital approval is required
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced travel pay rate
