Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a neurological patient focus at a 97-bed hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 7p-7a, with schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 hours
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; no additional PTO will be approved after accepting the assignment
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• Royal blue scrubs are required
