Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with cardiac procedures including TAVR and device implantation.
Details
- Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 13-week contract with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position
- Cardiology Cath Lab setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population includes cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular procedures, TAVR, and device implantations
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 patient to 4 staff members (2 nurses and 2 techs)
- Every third or fourth weekend required
- On-call required, scheduled in collaboration with other staff members
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab or related nursing specialty experience
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, with competency validation completed during onboarding
- All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Scrub color: Galaxy blue
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- 2 professional references required for consideration
