Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a 111-bed teaching hospital in Kennewick, WA, requiring 2+ years of experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Work setting is a Birth Center Labor & Delivery unit within a 111-bed acute care teaching hospital serving the Tri-Cities area of southeastern Washington
- Unit includes 6 labor rooms, 11 mother/baby rooms, and 3 triage beds with a volume of approximately 110 deliveries per month
- Patient population is adult obstetric patients with common cases including labor and delivery
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- EHR systems used are Centricity and Paragon
- Night shift position, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend requirement is 48 hours per month
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to Mother/Baby unit
- Block schedules are not permitted
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring — AHA-issued certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience required
- OR scrub circulation, mother/baby, and triage experience are preferred but not required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility
Additional Information
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Scrub color requirement is blue or blue/green
- The Tri-Cities region offers 25 square miles of recreational landscape, 27 public parks, 3 golf courses, and is located in the heart of Washington Wine Country — approximately 3 hours from Seattle and Portland and 2 hours from Spokane
- Direct flights are available from Tri-Cities Airport to 10 major U.S. hubs

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.
Cons
On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
