Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Intermediate/Step Down experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Float Pool position providing flexible nursing coverage across all inpatient units, including support for inpatients held in the ED
• Intermediate/Step Down patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
• Skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, IV/PICC line care, IV insertion, tube care, and port care
• Day shift schedule: 7:00am – 7:00pm, 12-hour shifts
• 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• On-call required 1 shift per pay period if census drops
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of North Carolina or a compact license recognized in NC
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• CPI-A and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Intermediate/Step Down (Step Down/IMC) experience required
• Must be comfortable working with intermediate care patients
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing and manages complex patient care needs including discharge planning
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and communicate patient care plans
• Identifies and addresses cultural and educational needs of patients and families
• Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of commitment; background check and drug screen results require at least 2 weeks to process
