Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center in West Virginia, requiring Epic experience and strong clinical versatility across multiple specialties.

• Float pool position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Units include MedSurg, Stepdown, Trauma & General Surgery, Ortho/Neuro, Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion, Neuro/Epilepsy Monitoring, Surgical Oncology, and Medical Oncology
• Patient ratios are 1:3 on Stepdown units and 1:6 on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Each unit has up to 34 beds
• Charting is done in Epic; experience is required
• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekends and holidays required as scheduled
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong clinical background across Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Driver's license must reflect an address outside of 50 miles from the facility
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (e.g., Charge RN)

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers are not permitted to work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year; once that mark is reached, a 2-year break is required before returning
• Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
• All candidates interview directly with a unit manager
