Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring at least 1 year of cardiac stepdown experience and a Missouri or compact RN license

Details

• Work on a 32-bed Cardiac Medical Intermediate (Stepdown) unit within a hospital setting
• Care for post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, respiratory failure, and chest pain patients
• Patient ratios of 1:3-1:4
• Uses chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP equipment
• Utilizes EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently held in the state of Missouri (Compact accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience required
• No gaps in employment exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• Must be a team player who promotes a positive unit culture

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted
• Scrub color is all black with facility logo on top; hoodies, non-logo jackets, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and fake nails are not permitted
• RTO of 5 days or less allowed, but must be made up during the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate for those residing within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
