Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

  • Respiratory Care department in a pediatric hospital setting
  • Children's hospital experience preferred
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • 26-week contract

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
  • RRT credential required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire)
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire
  • ACLS certification from the AHA required within 3 months of hire
  • All certifications must be issued by the AHA
  • License required if applicable
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
  • Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
  • Participate as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
  • Serve as a resource to medical staff regarding respiratory therapy procedures and equipment
  • Workers who have previously worked at this facility may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before re-engaging after the 26 weeks
