Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract, requiring active TNCC and a valid IN or Compact RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department (ER) unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities on an as-needed basis
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required, must be in hand for start dates 2–4 weeks out
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (AHA and RQI formats accepted; all must be current)
- Minimum 2–3 years of ER experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- RN degree must be from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the 2–3 year ER experience requirement
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not eligible for this position
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Current or former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break
