Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit with Epic experience and orthopedic or post-surgical skills, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 68 total staffed beds
• Medical/Surgical unit specializing in short-stay orthopedic, urology, and plastics surgery patients, with a majority of the orthopedic population consisting of joint replacement surgery patients
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call is required for this position
• Floating within the Med/Surg unit required to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; IL candidates may submit with a pending IL license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with orthopedic or post-surgical (plastics) patient populations required — both are not necessary, either is acceptable
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy scrubs required (top, jacket, and bottom)
• Free parking available in unrestricted employee spaces (yellow-painted lines) at the rear of the hospital
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
