Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic proficiency and stroke thrombectomy experience.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics
- Nurse-to-room ratio of 4 rooms with an average daily census of 25
- Charting via Epic (required) and Pyxis; uses SBAR communication framework
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Every third weekend required, not to exceed 2 weekends per month
- Floating within the facility within scope of practice as needed
- On-call is rotated among the team
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of IR RN experience required
- Stroke thrombectomy experience required — hard stop
- Proficiency in Epic required
- Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week
- RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration — finalized RTO dates required upfront
- Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, travelers must work two (one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval)
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
- No scheduling requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted shift is firm
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
