Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Medical Innovation Unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice, with day shift and every-other-weekend requirements.

Details

• Work on a 32-bed Medical/Surgical Innovation Unit (2 West) that serves as a catalyst for adopting new technologies and innovative nursing practice models
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Hercules beds are used on this unit
• Floating to other units may be required to cover staffing needs
• Holiday rotation required; staff must work one summer and one winter holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license — VA or Compact license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Additional Information

• Team members are early adopters of new technology, equipment, and nursing practice models
• Self-scheduling is done in assigned staff groups, which rotate every scheduling period (weekly)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO requests must be communicated prior to consideration for this position
