  • Approximately 60–80% of the ED consists of admitted/hold patients, with many rooms functioning as ED Holding
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • 36 or 48-hour workweeks available
  • Weekend scheduling required as needed; weekend nights are considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs; floating to Peds ED is optional; potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma DOE

  • RQI certifications are not accepted
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Travelers should expect their assignment to include, and may consist primarily of, admitted/hold patients due to a currently elevated volume of admit holds

  • Travel experience is strongly preferred; first-time travelers may be considered if they have 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience
  • Scrub color required: black (not provided by facility)

  • RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
  • A 6-month break is required for any traveler who has worked 4 consecutive assignments at this facility or reached their one-year mark, whichever comes first
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
  • All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

Albuquerque, NM

About

As the largest city in New Mexico, Albuquerque offers something for just about everyone. Charmingly quirky and wonderfully diverse, this town by the Rio Grand is not only an ideal base for day trips to natural wonders like Chaco Canyon, but it also has a rich history and dramatic landscapes of its own. Gaze across the desert and see snow-capped Mount Taylor 100 miles in the distance. The striking confluence of mountain ranges, vast river bordered by cottonwood forest, flocks of sandhill cranes flying overhead and countless colorful hot-air balloons that often fill the morning skies have long-drawn creative types and adventurers. Albuquerque's many highlights include vibrant galleries, world-class museums, farmers' markets and a thriving microbrewery scene. The historic district dubbed Old Town Plaza spans 10 blocks with fabulous restaurants, cafes, shops and the historic San Felipe de Neri Church, constructed in 1793.
