Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a regional tertiary care facility, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float to Mother Baby as needed.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a women's and children's hospital setting
- Regional tertiary care L&D unit supporting local obstetric needs and serving as a receiving facility from outlying hospitals
- Unit consists of 14 L&D beds, 6 triage beds, 2 ORs, 2 recovery beds, and 2 high-risk antepartum beds
- Serves both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patient populations, from patients seeking minimal intervention to those with major complications
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekday and every other weekend shifts required
- Floating to Mother Baby unit required when not needed on L&D
- Documents using Cerner (required), Surginet, and Fetalink
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required; pending state license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Circulating experience in an OR setting required
- Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) experience required
- IV start skills required
- Triage and scrub skills are a plus
- Valid Driver's License and Social Security card required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Nurses collaborate with midwives and physicians to support the full spectrum of childbirth experiences
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on years of experience
- No blocked schedule requests will be accommodated
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; exceptions may be requested on a case-by-case basis for candidates residing 75–99 miles away
- Former permanent employees of CAMC are not eligible to return as travelers until 2 years after their last day of permanent employment
- Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); a medical exemption documented by an allergist or physician is the only accepted exception
- COVID vaccine is not required
- Candidates must complete a respirator fit test prior to starting; candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete this requirement
