Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Rochester, NY, requiring phlebotomy and IV placement competency and a valid NY RN license.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a cardiac patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios on nights are 6–7:1, with potential stretch to 8–10:1 if staffing needs arise
• Day/evening ratios are 5:1, with potential stretch to 6–7:1
• PCTs are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating between like units required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible, but is not guaranteed
• Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement competency required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral line care/management, and non-invasive airway management (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks)
• Experience with isolation precautions
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Scrub color: any combination of navy and white
• No more than 1 week of RTO will be approved per contract
