Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at an academic medical center in Shreveport, LA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a PACU unit within an academic medical center
• Shift hours are 14:30–23:00 (5x8-hour days)
• Standard patient ratio is 1:2, with the possibility of up to 1:4 to accommodate overflow patients awaiting room assignments
• Call is required every 3rd weekend, typically on a volunteer basis, with shifts of either 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00
• Holiday coverage is part of the call schedule

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign staff to an emergency team with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team until an emergency event passes
