Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a hospital in Georgia, caring for critically ill medical/surgical patients on a night shift schedule with every-other-weekend requirements.

Details

• 12-bed split ICU unit within a hospital setting, with 6 beds on each of two floors
• Critically ill medical/surgical patient population including sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, alcohol/drug overdose and withdrawal, post-op surgical care, GI bleeding, end-of-life/comfort care, and COVID-19 complications
• Higher-acuity patients on the 2nd floor staffed at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; lower-acuity patients on the 1st floor staffed at a 1:3 ratio with PCT support
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Current copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are accepted — the listed shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
