Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel contract requiring Maryland or compact RN licensure, Epic proficiency, and a minimum of 3 years of emergency department experience.

Details

• Hospital emergency department setting with 46 beds and an average daily census of 140
• Patients span all age groups with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
• Specialized equipment includes Belmont rapid infuser for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract, night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:30–08:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating within the specialty required as needed
• Scheduled on-call not required

Requirements

• Active RN license for the state of Maryland (MD state or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI, and TNCC
• Minimum 3 years of emergency department experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience may be considered
• Epic EMR experience required

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad acuity range including trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, and pediatric/neonatal cases
• Any time-off requests should be disclosed at the time of initial consideration
• Holiday coverage is required as shifts fall on the schedule
