Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Fredericksburg, TX, requiring 3+ years of ED experience and TNCC certification on a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Work in an 11-bed Emergency Department on the main campus of a hospital in Fredericksburg, TX
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Equipment used includes Philips monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Omnicell, GE EKG machine, Lifepak 20e defibrillator, Lucas device, and Verathon bladder scanner
• EMR: Meditech Expanse
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC — AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• Minimum 3 years of recent ED experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Procedures performed include STEMI protocol, stroke protocol, conscious sedation, chest tubes, codes, intubation, laceration repair, antivenom infusion, and orthopedic splinting
• Prior charge nurse experience is preferred, as it demonstrates the ability to multitask and think independently
• CPI certification (or an accepted equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA) may be required per facility policy for ER units
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
