Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Charge Nurse position in a Med/Surg Adult unit, requiring 3+ years of nursing experience and working night shifts every other weekend.

Details

• Adult Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Charge Nurse role coordinating patient care across multiple departments including Acute Care, Birthing Center, Cancer, Wound and Infusion, Emergency Department, and Surgery
• Night shifts: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (12-hour rotation)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
• TNCC encouraged but not required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Two-year nursing degree required; BSN preferred
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Serves as a nursing resource and liaison across hospital departments, administration, patients, and visitors
• Conducts daily rounding across departments to assess and coordinate patient transfers
• Mentors staff and holds team members accountable for safe, competent, and quality practice
• Assists with after-hours pharmacy needs and proper patient placement for Acute Care admissions
• Responsible for activation and management of Incident Command in a Mass Casualty Incident
• Coordinates cross-departmental staffing needs as required
