Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Preop position at a 47-bed acute care facility in Los Alamos, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.
Details
- Located in an Outpatient Surgery Center on the 3rd floor of a 47-bed acute care facility serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico
- Specialty area covers PACU and Preop; this is a shared position between both units
- Primarily adult patient population, with ENT cases performed once a month
- Common diagnoses and procedures include appendectomy and cholecystectomy
- Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2
- Unit has 3 PACU beds
- EHR systems used: CQI and Medhost
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, 13-week contract
- On-call coverage required on nights and weekends; once notified of a case, arrival within 30 minutes is required
- No floating outside of the shared PACU/Preop role expected
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be AHA-certified and in hand prior to consideration
- Preop experience is preferred in addition to PACU background
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel placement
Additional Information
- Provides post-anesthesia care and preoperative nursing support in an outpatient surgical setting
- All clinical staff working in New Mexico must be fingerprinted before hire; travelers may begin on a 14-day supervised waiver while fingerprint results are pending
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
- Open-toed shoes and artificial fingernails are not permitted
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
