Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience, prior travel nursing experience, and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital
- Floats among Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU based on staffing needs and patient acuity
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Floating limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties based on facility staffing needs
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience with cardiovascular care including CABG, post cardiac surgery care, Swan Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with neurological care including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and lumbar drains
- Knowledge of renal, GI, infection prevention, cardiac dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and IV insulin protocols
- RTO requests must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
- Locals accepted at the same pay rate
- Must complete Ohio-required fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract; candidates outside driving distance will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
- Former employees eligible for consideration after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible for this traveler position
