Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a part-time travel assignment at a small community hospital in Elkhorn, WI, with the ability to work independently in the OR and fluoroscopy required.

Details

• Small 64-bed community hospital in Elkhorn, WI serving inpatient, outpatient, ED, and OR patient populations
• Part-time position with 16 standard hours per week on 8-hour day shifts
• Typical schedule is every Monday and Tuesday (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM), with every 4th weekend (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM)
• On the weekend rotation week, schedule is Mon, Tue, Sat followed by Sun, Mon, Tue the next week
• Start time may vary between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM depending on daily needs
• On-call required; must be within 45 minutes of the facility
• On-call coverage during the week is for overnight surgery cases; on weekends, on-call covers sick calls and added OR cases
• Holiday coverage required if open holidays fall within the contract period
• No floating required
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Procedures include basic X-rays, fluoroscopy (approx. 3 cases/week), and OR C-arm operation
• Equipment includes GE systems, Canon/Fuji portable X-ray interface, and GE OEC C-arm
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 8-week scheduling periods are provided 1-2 weeks in advance
• No on-call scheduled outside of the noted coverage windows

Requirements

• Active ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Active WI state license required prior to consideration; license required if applicable
• Minimum of 12 months of core radiology experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Must be able to perform OR and fluoroscopy exams independently
• First-time travelers considered with acute care setting experience
• Must be able to report to the facility within 45 minutes for on-call obligations
• 1 professional reference required, dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• COVID vaccine required
• Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Position is covering a maternity leave for approximately 12 weeks
• If additional shifts become available, there is the ability to pick up beyond contracted hours
• High-acuity patients are transferred to a larger medical center in Milwaukee
• Department support includes a supervisor, other radiology techs, and a receptionist (days only)
• PACS and Epic experience are a nice-to-have
• Orientation includes gaining system access and badge on day one, followed by 2 days of precepting with a core tech to learn department workflow
• Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
• Free parking is available on site

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule for pay eligibility
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
