Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a community hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center in North Carolina.
Details
- 255-bed community hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center; no trauma designation and not a teaching hospital
- Respiratory Care department serving a primarily adult patient population across all units, with potential pediatric exposure in the ED
- Average daily census of approximately 225 patients
- Float required throughout Region 1 facilities, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, any freestanding ED within the region, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates must be willing to float or should not apply
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- EMR: Epic
- Equipment used includes Servo, Nitric Oxide, Volara, Airvo 2, and Synclare
Requirements
- RRT credential required (CRT not accepted)
- Active NC Respiratory Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience in ICU, ED, and Progressive Care settings required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Epic EMR experience
- Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any unmet contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract end date
- 6-week scheduling cycle
- Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Department is described as a small, family-oriented team with leadership support
- Required scrub color: Royal Blue
- Free parking available in an on-site deck
