  • Treatments are divided across AM rounds, ER, and floor splits
  • Equipment includes Draeger ventilators, Philips BiPAP/CPAP V60s, Airvo high-flow devices, and Hamilton ventilators (coming soon)
  • EMR is Cerner, currently transitioning to Epic
  • Rotating day and night shifts, 12-hour shifts with a 7:00 AM start

Requirements

  • RRT credential via NBRC required
  • Active certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NRP
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Experience responding to codes, code blues, C-sections, and conscious sedation required
  • Experience with vent management, BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, ABG, aerosol/nebulizer therapy, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring required
  • Must be comfortable functioning as the sole RT in house
  • Intubation experience preferred (performed with a physician present)
  • Prior travel experience strongly preferred
  • 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years of relevant experience
  • License required if applicable — an active license is not required at time of consideration but must be active by the start date

Additional Information

  • Daily responsibilities include setting up and managing ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, ABGs, nebulizer treatments, conscious sedation, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
  • Hospitalist coverage during the day, telehealth medicine at night, and an ER physician in house 24/7 who responds to codes
  • Department orientation consists of 2 days focused on equipment and department familiarization
  • Holidays that fall on a scheduled shift are expected to be worked
  • Scrubs can be provided via on-site scrub dispenser, or candidates may wear their own scrubs; street clothes are permitted for arrival
  • Previous employees of this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date, and hospital approval is required
  • Candidates whose permanent address is within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which affects the applicable pay rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered, though prior travel experience is strongly preferred
