Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- 68-bed Emergency Department in a busy urban hospital setting
- Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center serving a high-acuity patient population
- Typical patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances
- High patient volume environment with 200+ patients per day
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Weekends required as determined by the facility
- No on-call or float requirements
- 13-week assignment
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri or a compact license eligible for Missouri endorsement
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (all from AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not in hand at time of consideration)
- No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility — trauma experience level must be reflected on the resume
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Performs direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across a high-acuity trauma and burn population
- Experience with trauma/peds cases and high-volume, high-acuity environments is preferred
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the full orientation week
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers working between November 1 and April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week, and only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
