Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility.
Details
- Evening shift position, 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- 68-bed Emergency Department in a busy urban trauma center
- Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and STEMI Center
- Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances
- Charting performed in Epic
- Weekends required as determined by the facility
- No float requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or compact state license
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS (NIHSS must be obtained prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility
- ED experience level and trauma setting must be clearly reflected on the resume
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs
Additional Information
- High-volume unit seeing 200+ patients per day; experience with trauma and pediatric cases is preferred
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- RTO of up to 5 days is permitted but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request may be made per assignment
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
- Certifications must not be expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided
