Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department evening shift position at a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and burn center requiring at least 1 year of Level 1 or 2 years of Level 2 trauma ED experience.
Details
- Work in a 68-bed Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and regional burn center
- Busy urban trauma center seeing 200+ patients per day with high acuity cases
- Patient ratios routinely run 4:1, though ratios may change during surges or other circumstances
- Evening shift, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- Weekend hours required as needed by the facility
- No call requirements
- No floating requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or current MO license required
- Compact RN license accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS may be obtained prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility required (must be indicated on resume)
- Trauma, pediatric, and high-acuity ED experience preferred
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (declinations not accepted)
- Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift
- Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Must be able to lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality suited for a fast-paced trauma center environment
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
- Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available for the entire orientation week
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- RTO must be made up during the assignment and will not be approved during the first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those living within 50 miles of the facility
